PLA Filter Mesh (Biodegradable)

Compostable corn-fiber mesh for tea, coffee and eco filtration — plastic-free.

PLA Filter Mesh (Biodegradable)
Filter Wire Mesh

Product Introduction

PLA (polylactic acid) filter mesh is the sustainable alternative to petroleum-based filter media: a 100% biodegradable and compostable material derived from renewable plant resources such as corn starch, sugarcane and cassava. With uniform pore distribution and excellent transparency, it delivers high liquid permeability with a microplastic-free ecological footprint.

Food-safe, BPA/phthalate/heavy-metal free and stable in boiling water at 100°C, it is the standard choice for pyramid tea bags, drip coffee filters and herbal medicine pouches. Its thermoplastic character is optimized for high-speed ultrasonic sealing on automated packaging lines — no chemical glues. Naturally antibacterial and mildew-resistant.

Frequently Asked Questions

PLA is derived from plant starch and is industrially compostable — it breaks down into water and CO₂ under industrial composting conditions, leaving no microplastics. Ask us for current certification documentation for your market's requirements.

Yes — it is stable in 100°C boiling water, which is why it is widely used for tea bags and herbal decoction pouches.

Its thermoplastic character is optimized for ultrasonic sealing — fast, glue-free sealing on high-speed packaging lines, with no chemical adhesives in contact with food.
